Transportation and Disposal

HOW IT WORKS

Recoil Range Remediation follows these steps to help ensure that the lead and soil are transported and disposed of safely, minimizing environmental impact and adhering to legal requirements.

  • First, we identify and segregate the lead-contaminated materials. This includes spent bullets, bullet fragments, and contaminated soil.
  • The lead-contaminated soil is then sifted to remove all recoverable lead fragments to be sent for recycling.
  • The soil is then treated with an encapsulation agent to prepare the soil for disposal.
  • Recoil Range Remediation then prepares necessary documentation, including waste manifests, which detail the type and quantity of waste, the origin, and the destination. This ensures a clear chain of custody.
  • We maintain detailed records of the entire process, from initial collection to final disposal. This includes keeping copies of all manifests and receipts from the disposal and recycling facilities.
  • We regularly review and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding hazardous waste transport and disposal.
  • At the conclusion of the project, we provide a final report which includes a Certificate of Destruction and Recycling.
